The story of how International Broker Co came to exist — and why it had to.
If you've ever looked into moving overseas, changing your tax residency, opening an international company or restructuring your affairs — you've probably experienced the same thing.
You speak to your accountant at home. Then an accountant in another jurisdiction. Then a lawyer. Then a company formation agent. Then somebody on YouTube. Then ChatGPT.
You speak to specialists who each understand their own corner of it. But nobody can give you a clear picture of how it all fits together for your specific situation — your business, your structure, your life.
Meanwhile your business keeps growing. Your income keeps increasing. Your company becomes more valuable. And every month spent stuck in research mode carries real consequences.
Not in theory. Not from reading about it. I went through it myself — and I did it the hard way.
I remember sitting across from a tax lawyer for the third time. $5,000 in fees across three sessions. Two hours of legal and tax jargon and self-aggrandisement. And at the end of it — confirmation of things I already knew, and zero clarity on what to actually do next.
He understood the law. He didn't understand my business, my structure, my goals or my life.
That's the moment I realised the problem wasn't finding experts. The problem was that nobody was coordinating them.
I spent over a year trying to figure it out. I spoke to accountants in multiple countries. I got conflicting advice from lawyers across three jurisdictions. I established companies in the wrong places. By the time I came out the other side, I'd paid several hundred thousand dollars in tax I didn't need to pay — and lost time, revenue and mental bandwidth I'll never get back.
And when I finally got to the end of the process, I realised something that genuinely surprised me.
None of it was actually that complicated. I just needed someone in the middle making it simple. And that person didn't exist.
Before building international businesses, I spent my career as a mortgage broker — building and running a business that facilitated over AUD $1 billion in lending for business owners and investors across multiple jurisdictions. Not a local brokerage. A genuinely international operation, coordinating lenders, legal structures, and clients across borders.
The value was never finding a loan. The value was sitting between accountants, lawyers, banks and clients in different countries — translating complexity into a clear path forward. That skill transfers exactly.
Today I still run a multiple seven-figure business across multiple jurisdictions — with an effective net tax rate of less than 5%. This isn't theory. I live the structure I help others build.
That's exactly what International Broker Co does today.
We don't claim to be your accountant. We don't claim to be your lawyer. We don't claim to be experts in every jurisdiction on earth.
Our role is to sit in the middle. Coordinate the right specialists. Cut through conflicting advice. And help you move forward with confidence — without spending a year figuring it out the hard way.
Because the founders who benefit most from international structures aren't the ones who spend years researching.
They're the ones who stop trying to become experts in everything — and let somebody else coordinate the process.
International Broker Co. Your broker for internationalisation. For Borderless Founders.
